The city of Slagelse is located an hour south-west of Copenhagen and was not on the map for streetart, until May 2021. A group of local cultural forces united with Institut for Urban Kunst from Copenhagen and created a new Danish streetart festival. Even with the last grasp of the covid pandemic still around, the group managed to organized and create a festival at 5 central locations in the center of the old city where a total of 21 artists based in Denmark created big works of art over three days. The result was extremely successful, as most of the artists had not taken part in any events in more than a year and were very eager to paint and show of their skills to the public again. And the public in Slagelse loved the event and all the new artworks brightening up their city center.
The festival was supported by MOLOTOW and will be back in 2022!
