NAMEDROPPING project: AMIT 2.0 x DRIK

For the next episode in the Namdropping project, Amit2.0 met with the graffiti artist DRIK from Brandenburg, Germany to paint together and swipe names using MOLOTOW Premium Spraypaint!

“Last weekend I was invited to the Mai Jam Kassel. Together with Iggy and Desk7, I headed to Hessen early in the morning. Once there I met up for a name exchange on a shared wall with Drik using MOLOTOW Premium. It was a really beautiful day—big thanks to Kolorcubes for organizing it. Here’s the interview from the session with Drik

1. How long have you been painting—and what still excites you about it today?
In 1994, I was in San Diego with my mom. We drove through L.A., and everywhere I looked there were bombings, tags, and throw-ups. When I asked what it was, the answer was: “Gang graffiti.” And I immediately thought: “That’s what I’m gonna do too.” Today, what means the most to me is painting together with others and constantly pushing my own style.

2. What’s your favorite memory from our day today?
Seeing old friends, meeting new ones—almost a perfect day. Big thanks to Kolorcubes for organizing it. The best moment was what you said to my son during the posse photo:
“You have to be in the picture—you’re part of the crew.”

3. What do you think about the wall?
Different approaches, same roots. I tend to play more with thick-and-thin contrasts rather than classic bar styles—and still, your piece with my name has flavor and heart. And even though there’s always a bit of competition in it all: for me, Emik won the wall today.
