The 34th Salón Internacional del Cómic de Barcelona will be held between May 5 and May 8, 2016, in Fira Barcelona Montjuïc. It will cover an area of 45,000 square meters, an increase of 25% compared to last year. The increase in area responds to a rise in the number of exhibitors, activities and attending audience. Last year, the Salón was visited by 113,000 people, and 160 exhibitors took part in it. The Salón Internacional del Cómic de Barcelona, the most important exhibition of the industry in Spain, and second in Europe, is organized by the Federació d’Institucions Professionals del Còmic (Federation of professional institutions of the comic industry), created in 1988, which represents the guilds of publishers, booksellers and distributors of Catalonia. FICOMIC, a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of comics, is also the organizer of the Salón del Manga de Barcelona, which was just held for the 21st time with a huge success.
Among the 160 exhibitors of the Salón are the main publishing companies and booksellers. In spain the comic publishing industry is a dynamic one, and the main multimedia publishing groups take part in the Fair. From Thursday May, 05th to Sunday May, 08th MOLOTOW will run a booth (PALACIO nº 2 – stand nº5) at Salón Internacional del Cómic de Barcelona 2016 FIRA DE BARCELONA – PLAZA ESPAÑA). Daily from 10am to 8pm interesting internacional artists will perform and run workshops.
