FireBall Festival 2025: A Full-Scale Graffiti Takeover

FireBall Festival—founded in 2017 by Fire EX.—has evolved into one of Taiwan’s leading music events, and in 2025 its visual identity grew even stronger through the FireBall Graffiti Crew, led by artist Black. With teams focusing on installations and live painting, graffiti became an essential part of the festival experience.

The main “Light & Fire” ramp installation by BlackZao, Colasa, and Debe used thermal-imaging color gradients to express rising heat, shifting from deep blues and purples to blazing oranges, yellows, and white. Fluorescent accents intensified the motion, while a vortex design linked all elements into a rotating fireball, echoing both the festival theme and the baseball-stadium venue. Each artist added their signature touch—BlackZao’s spiritual, folk-religion-inspired imagery; Colasa’s experimental mixed-media style; and Debe’s fluid blend of abstraction and typography.

Nearby, artists Disk and Mooz created a crowd-favorite interactive installation titled “Chaotic Monsters.” Filled with bright colors, playful characters, and cartoon-like chaos, the piece encouraged visitors to step in, pose, and complete the artwork through their own participation.

Throughout the festival, live painters Mr. Ogay, Shenmigo, CreepyMouse, and SONG brought the energy of graffiti directly to the audience. Working from day to night, they painted openly and spontaneously, showing that graffiti is built from improvisation and emotion as much as skill. Their styles ranged from Mr. Ogay’s dark humor and social commentary, to Shenmigo’s diverse spray-paint interpretations, to SONG’s otaku-influenced character world, and CreepyMouse’s calligraffiti merging scripts with realistic imagery.

Photographer Heng Li documented the process quietly, capturing authentic street-level stories as they unfolded. The entire project was realized in collaboration with Wild Open Arts, an arts organization known for supporting street artists and producing large-scale creative projects across museums, brands, and public spaces.

Together, they transformed FireBall Festival 2025 into a living, burning collision of music, street culture, and community—turning the venue itself into one giant fireball of creativity, supported by MOLOTOW!
