Graffiti artist AMIT 2.0 continues his NAMEDROPPING project with another nice exchange work, where he takes the challenge to spray the paint partner´s name and the other way around.
This time with Graffiti artist OHM ONE from Hamburg. Here is the photo report and interview!
How long have you been painting?
I took my first step in 1990. At the time, my district was very raw in Hamburg when it came to graffiti. Everything was fully tagged. Really everything was painted with rough pieces. One of the people who stood out the most for me was Jase – but many other good writers were also active and inspired me. Back then, me and my boys skated where there were also lots of pieces so I couldn’t get past graffiti at all.
What does style writing mean to you?
Stylewriting is always a challenge for me. Refine turns and improve proportions. Sometimes frustrating and all the better the feeling when at the end there is a new style.
What do you think of the namedropping project?
Great idea – and made me curious to get to know you.
How did you prepare for today?
Sketch with a pencil. The new combination of letters was fun. Finally something new!
How did you do with painting? How was the process
That was relaxed – it had a home advantage here at my wall in good old Barmbek.
What do you think when you see the finished wall and your name “by someone else’s hand”?
Inspirational to see how you connected the letters. Especially the “O” – great!
What is your opinion on graffiti and social media?
Basically I’m not a big fan of social media, but the opportunity to be in direct contact with other writers and see what they are doing is really cool.
What is your favorite subway station in Hamburg? Why?
I don’t really have one – but „Schlump“ sounds the funniest.
Your favorite picture from the enclosed selection and why?
No.7 – everything fits. Thank you for your invitation and for getting to know you. It was a feast for me. See you soon 🙂
